 There are many factors when it comes to braking torque. Surface area is just one of those factors. All other factors being equal, a set of cross-drilled brakes will slow better after repeated use than a set of non-drilled rotors. The non-drilled rotors will have more surface area. There are other factors at work - brake fade, distance of the rotor from the center of the wheel, etc. I'm not arguing against your point, I am stating that "bigger" or "more" isn't always better. There are many more factors in the braking equation than "surface area."
